Description

Technical Description

An exquisite pair of 18th-century glass spirit decanters. They have their orginal cut and ground lozenge stoppers. Slice and prism cut necks above flute and prism cut shoulders. Bands of flutes around the base with polished pontils.

You can see examples of these types of decanters on page 149 of 'The Decanter An Illustrated History of Glass from 1650' by Andy McConnell. His books are by far the best ever written on the subject, not just on decanters, but in many ways, glass in general.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration. Clear and clear.
