Bristol green glass refers to deeply saturated, high-clarity green glassware produced in Bristol, England, particularly during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, often used for spirit and wine bottles.

These vessels were typically free-blown or mould-blown using molten glass, featuring hand-finished necks, applied or blown ribs, and ground-in glass stoppers for an airtight seal.

Authentic pieces often exhibit pontil marks on the base from the manufacturing process, minor surface irregularities, wear scratches indicative of age, and distinctive colour saturation specific to historical glasshouses.

They can be displayed on drinks trolleys, sideboards, or open shelving to introduce historical texture, colour, and reflective light into contemporary living spaces.

Clean antique glass gently using lukewarm water and mild soap, avoiding harsh chemicals, extreme temperature shifts, and abrasive brushes to protect the fragile surface and historic patination.
