FAQs

Art Deco design, prominent during the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by geometric precision, clean lines, and a synthesis of modern industrial aesthetics with fine craftsmanship.

Enamel and marcasite require gentle cleaning with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh silver dips or ultrasonic cleaners which can damage the delicate glass and stone settings.

Such decorative items function well as coffee table accents, displayed within glass cabinets, or arranged on decorative trays alongside books and sculptures.

Authenticity is verified through hallmark stamps indicating metal purity and maker marks, alongside examining the hand-set marcasite stones and the depth and vitreous quality of the enamel.

These pieces typically utilised sterling silver frameworks combined with guilloche enamel, where a fine pattern was engine-turned onto the metal before translucent coloured glass enamel was applied.
