Size: 7ft 11in x 3ft 3in (242 x 99cm).

Antique Caucasian long rug with all over boteh design.

Circa 1900.

An interesting example of a Caucasian 'boteh' design long rug, these are found throughout the Caucasus region. This example has very simple almost primitive drawing, it originates from either Gendje or Talish. Each boteh is drawn in an angular style and contains a smaller boteh with a flower or shrub; the soft pastel colours are unusual and rather pleasing.

The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile.

The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
