Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This oversized Persian Heriz carpet originates from 1890 and is fashioned from wool and cotton. The central field displays a terracotta red palette filled with a prominent geometric central medallion in navy blue and beige, surrounded by corner spandrels, angular palmettes, and a samovar border. Natural dyes show mellowed tones alongside minor repairs, a slight loss to one end which has been stopped, and a deep clean that leaves the item floor ready. Measuring 542 cm high by 381 cm wide and 0.5 cm deep, this large floor covering suits spacious reception rooms or traditional living spaces within an English Country House interior. The tightly knotted construction and durable materials provide a robust foundation for high-traffic zones while anchoring room decor with heritage character.

FAQs

Woven in the Heriz region of Northwest Iran, these carpets are celebrated for their bold geometric medallions, angular botanical patterns, and durable construction.

Heriz carpets are hand-knotted using durable wool pile on a strong cotton warp and weft, tied with symmetrical Turkish knots.

Authentic pieces exhibit prominent geometric central medallions, angular palmettes, thick handle, slight weaving variations, and rich naturally dyed wool.

Place an oversize carpet to anchor large living or dining areas, balancing its bold geometric patterns and terracotta palette with neutral upholstery and dark timber.

Vacuum regularly without a rotating beater bar, clean spills promptly with cold water, and arrange for professional hand-washing when deep cleaning is required.
