FAQs

Italian alabaster lighting draws inspiration from classical architecture and neoclassical design, utilizing hand-carved stone traditionally quarried in regions like Tuscany to mimic ancient columns and pilasters.

These lamps are typically carved from solid natural alabaster or soft stone, featuring turned columnar shafts, stepped square bases, and often incorporate brass or bronze electrical fittings.

Authentic pieces generally display natural stone veining, minor surface variations from hand-carving, appropriate period wiring or heavy brass components, and a translucent quality when illuminated.

They serve as sculptural accent pieces that add textural contrast and soft ambient light, working well on sideboards, consoles, or bedside tables within both traditional and minimalist schemes.

Alabaster is a porous and relatively soft mineral, so it should be cleaned only with a dry or barely damp microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners and excessive moisture.
