Technical Description

A rare pair of mixed twist wine glasses dating to c1755. They have ogee bowls above mixed twist stems consisting of pairs of mercury cork screws outside tight white opaque solid cores. Conical feet.

Mercury corkscrews on mixed twists are exceptionally rare and hardly ever seen, as are ogee bowls on mixed twist forms. Overall, a very fine pair.

Date & Origin

England, C1755. Period of George II.

Excellent, no chips cracks or restoration
