Technical Description
 
An exceptional 19th century cut glass water jug. A pulled pouring lip featuring a notch cut rim. Full prism cut neck and body. Applied strap handle. Polished pontil.
 
Date & Origin
 
England, c1820. Period of George IV.
 
Condition
 
Minor grazes to some of the cuts as shown, clear and clear.

Height: 17.5cm
 
Diameter: 18.5cm including the handle.
 
Historical Relevance
 
Hand-blown around the time the Irish Royal Navy captain, Edward Bransfield landed on the mainland of Antarctica.
