This large Qashqai main carpet dates from 1890 and originates from the Fars province of south-west Persia. Made entirely of wool with a low even pile, the rectangular rug displays a dark blue and black ground decorated with three central diamond medallions, rectilinear peacock motifs, animals, and tribal symbols.
