This nineteenth-century Chinese Qing style table lamp is a converted baluster vase made from porcelain, brass, and wood. The piece is finished in a mottled sang de boeuf flambe glaze displaying dramatic streaks of red, blue-white, and pale cream, and stands upon a dark carved wooden base with molded scroll feet. At the top, a polished brass neck mount rises to a threaded metal fixture and a small conical finial. The vase measures 55 cm high.
