FAQs

The Georgian period spans the reigns of the four King Georges from 1714 to 1830, a time when British glass production advanced significantly following the introduction of lead crystal.

Authentic pieces from this period were typically crafted using heavy lead glass, which gave the material its characteristic brilliance, weight, and ring when struck.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the pontil mark on the underside of the foot, surface wear patterns, trapped air bubbles within the metal, and the overall weight and composition of the lead glass.

Antique stemware can be displayed within a glazed cabinet or sideboard, introducing historical texture and refined silhouette to contemporary dining spaces.

Antique glass should be washed by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and abrasive sponges to protect the delicate surface.
