Stevens & Williams Rococo Inatglio Cut Glass Claret Jug C1885

Technical Description

A magnificent Stevens and Williams intaglio cut glass claret jug dating to 1885.

It has its original hollow mushroom stopper, a poring section to the front rim and a clear applied handle to the rear. The rococo style intaglio cuts and engraving are of the highest quality and it was probably performed by Joshua Hodgetts.

You can see the an example of this claret jug on page 307 of "The Decanter Ancient & Modern' by Andy McConnell (his 2nd book).
