Honoverian 278g Sterling Silver Steward Family Crest Serving Ladle 1911

1900 - 1920
Description

A huge heavy English solid sterling silver serving ladle. It is hallmarked for London 1911 with the maker’s marks being FH&SLtd for Francis Higgins & Son Ltd. It has been superbly made to what is termed the Hanoverian Rat Tail pattern, the back of the terminal has been engraved with a lion crest which looks to be that of the Steward Family. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 13.5 inches (34.3cms) long by 3.75 inches (9.4cms) wide and weighs a very impressive 278 grams. A top quality piece.

Declaration

The Silver Squirrel has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
