A Fabulous Georgian Cut Glass Preserve Jar & Silver Spoon

A fabulous Georgian cut glass preserve jar. The body is of rounded form, with vertical prism and hobnail cutting to the sides and a cut star to the pedestal base. The original matching lid has corresponding cutting with a gorgeous swirled and cut knop. There is an associated silver hallmarked preserve spoon with a mother of pearl handle and engraved blade, completing the set. This attractive jar and spoon are a wonderful 'ready to go' gift idea, with an immediate practical use. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no serious chips or cracks to the glass and no dents or splits to the spoon. There are a number of very small fleabite nicks to the glass, commensurate with age and use.

Date :- c1820. Spoon hallmarked for Birmingham 1899.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable.

Height :- 13.5 cms (to top of knop).
