A set of four late 19th century French gilt brass wall appliques in the Louis XV style, each with a shaped backplate with reeded edge and a bar at the back for hanging, and with three sconces on scrolling arms, with a drip pan below and with faux candle sleeves, hung with shaped cut crystals and pendants, with further crystals above on scrolling arms. Wired for electricity. French, circa 1880.Condition: Excellent, all of the lights are in very good condition and all the branches are firmly attached, the sleeves are all present and the fittings are all in good working order. They were rewired in the last 12 years with earthed wiring, and were until recently installed in a house known to Chequers Antiques, where they all worked. Overall the lights have a wonderful appearance, and when installed they give a beautiful light, reflected by the crystals. They take E14 (small screw-in) bulbs, available from Amazon. We recommend using clear glass flame shaped bulbs for the best effect. ...
