Artisan Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The border features an ornate chased acanthus leaf design that flares outwards and accentuates the bottle/decanted which would be placed within.

Each section of the foliate design is intricately hand-stippled with impressive precision and overall geometric proportions are aesthetically delightful. Please take a look at the close-up photos and/or zoom in to fully appreciate the detailing work on every section.

The sides of the coasters also present further elegance with a 'melon-shape' design with each section slightly balustered and joined to the circular base.
Due to the large and accommodating proportions of this pair, a wide variety of bottles may be held within even in the modern day. Whether be it to enjoy some fine wine on your dining table or to present some exquisite champagne on a special occasion, this pair would grace fine interiors and immediately elevate the opulence of the setting.

The base of the coasters have wooden panels with green liners to prevent slippage.
A full set of English hallmarks are present on the base (border) of each piece however are quite worn and difficult to make out.
