A phenomenal set of earrings and ring mounted with large purple gemstones, believed to be colour-changing corundum, and white spinel accent stones, all foil backed for extra sparkle. The pieces are bespoke, almost certainly having been converted from a single earlier piece, perhaps a necklace or bracelet.• Condition: In very good antique/vintage condition.• Fixing: The earrings have posts for pierced ears with nice snappy omega back fittings for additional security.• Hallmarks/stamps: None, which is not unusual after conversions. The pieces test as sterling silver with solid 18-carat gold fittings (the ring shank, the earring backs etc).• Era: The conversion work is very much 1940s in style and the original jewellery is obviously earlier, possibly dating back to the 19th century.• Size: All three pieces measure approximately 2.5 x 2.2cm, with the central stone 1 x 1.5cm.
