Description

A 19thC military campaign trunk. Dovetailed pitch pine with heavy iron banding and cappings.The remmants of original paint to the drop down front which has a working lock and key. originally the interior would have been fitted with small drawers and slides butnow has only one full pull out slide and a slide out shaving mirror. Fittings for candle sconces and connectors to other trunks. The fold down front has brass scissor stays to support it at horizontal level suggesting that this trunk sat upon another of the same size. Large iron side lifting handles. brass flush pull to the front. An interesting and useful piece. A very nice coffee table ?

106 cms wide by 54 deep and 51 cms high.
