We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian silver coffee pots frequently feature elaborate ornamentation, including floral repousse work, scrolling handles, and classical revival motifs reflecting the eclectic tastes of the 19th century.

These pieces were typically crafted from sterling silver using a combination of hand-raising, spinning, and casting, often featuring applied cast feet, insulated handle rings, and detailed chased decoration.

Authenticity is verified through British hallmarks stamped on the metal, which typically include a makers mark, a standard mark for sterling silver, a town mark indicating the assay office, and a date letter.

Such pieces can be displayed on a sideboard or dining table as a sculptural accent, contrasting clean contemporary surfaces with the reflective sheen and intricate historic detail of the metal.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth to preserve the patina and hallmarks, and stored in a low-humidity environment away from direct sunlight.
