FAQs

A holy water font, or stoup, is a small vessel used in Christian traditions to hold holy water, traditionally placed near the entrance of a church or home for the faithful to bless themselves upon entry.

Antique fonts were frequently crafted from sterling silver, brass, ceramic, or carved wood, often utilizing repousse, casting, and hand-chasing techniques to create intricate religious iconography.

Authentic silver pieces typically feature period hallmarks indicating the metal purity, makers marks, and country of origin, alongside natural patina and wear consistent with age.

This piece can be mounted on a narrow wall space or displayed as part of a curated gallery wall, adding a layer of historical texture and contemplative character to a room.

Antique silver should be gently cleaned using a soft microfiber cloth to remove dust. Harsh chemical polishes and abrasive cleaners must be avoided to preserve the original patina and fine surface details.
