Edwardian jewellery, spanning the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, is characterised by lightness, grace, and an abundance of diamonds and pearls set in platinum and gold, often featuring intricate garland and filigree motifs.

Traditional materials from this era include platinum, which rose to prominence due to its strength and ability to hold fine millegrain detailing, alongside yellow and white gold, often paired with diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and spinels.

Authentic pieces often feature old-cut diamonds such as old European cuts, hand-carved settings with delicate millegrain edges, and internal hallmarks indicating the metal purity and period of manufacture.

An antique ring can be worn as a standalone statement piece or paired alongside contemporary minimalist bands to create a textured, high-contrast stacked look.

Care involves storing the piece in a lined jewellery box away from other hard gems, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners, and having the settings professionally checked annually to ensure stones remain secure.
