Edwardian jewellery, spanning the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, is characterised by light, airy designs often incorporating platinum and yellow gold settings with intricate millegrain detailing.

These rings typically combined yellow gold bands with platinum-topped settings to enhance the whiteness and brilliance of diamonds, frequently featuring old mine cut or old European cut stones.

Authentic pieces often show hand-cut diamonds with distinctive open culets, handmade platinum-over-gold construction, and period hallmark stamps specific to British assay offices.

Pairing an antique cluster ring with contemporary minimalist bands creates a striking contrast that highlights the intricate craftsmanship of the historic piece.

Regular professional inspection of the delicate settings and gentle cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft brush help protect the integrity of the millegrain and secure the stones.
