Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An Edwardian silver salver is a formal serving tray produced during the reign of King Edward VII between 1901 and 1910, typically used for presenting letters, calling cards, or beverages.

These pieces are crafted from sterling silver, adhering to the strict British standard of 925 parts per thousand, often featuring hand-chased borders, cast rims, and engraved centre medallions.

Authenticity is verified by checking for a complete set of British hallmarks stamped into the metal, which typically include the makers mark, the lion passant for sterling silver, the town assay office mark, and a date letter.

A silver salver can be displayed flat on a coffee table as a reflective base for glassware, or positioned upright on a stand to introduce metallic contrast and traditional craftsmanship into a contemporary scheme.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a non-abrasive silver cloth or specialized paste to remove tarnish, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can strip the original patination and fine engraving.
