Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Edwardian Dutch Revival chandelier is an early twentieth-century brass hanging light finished in a warm gold tone. The design incorporates eight graceful S-scroll arms branching outwards from a substantial turned central baluster stem, complete with white candle sleeves, flame-shaped bulbs, and intricate gadrooned detailing along the body. Additional visual elements include delicate cast scroll brackets near the junctions, ribbed collars on the vertical shaft, and a pointed finial suspended beneath the lower tier. Measuring 68 cm high, 76 cm wide, and 76 cm deep, the chandelier comes with a suspension chain and upper ceiling rose for hanging. Ideal for traditional interior settings, it provides overhead ambient illumination when installed in a dining room, hallway, or drawing room, anchoring classic English country house decor schemes with its metallic gleam and historic silhouette.

FAQs

An eight-arm scroll chandelier features eight curved branches extending from a central baluster stem, inspired by seventeenth and eighteenth-century Dutch ceiling lighting designs.

These light fixtures are typically cast from solid brass or bronze, featuring cast S-scroll arms, a central turned column, and individual drip pans with candle sleeves.

Authentic pieces feature threaded rod construction, hand-chased surface details, age-appropriate oxidisation in carved crevices, and historical re-wiring adaptors.

Suspend the fitting above a dining table or within a hallway to create a focal point that contrasts warm metallic tones against neutral plaster walls.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and avoid harsh chemical polishes that can strip the natural patina or protective lacquer from the metal surface.
