Art Deco jewellery, prominent during the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by geometric symmetry, clean lines, stylised motifs, and a strong influence from machine-age industrial design.

Jewellers of this era predominantly utilised platinum for its strength and ability to hold delicate millegrain detailing securely, often pairing it with diamonds featuring old European or old mine cuts.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit hand-carved platinum settings, specific period diamond cuts such as old cuts or baguettes, and signs of genuine age-related wear rather than modern cast reproduction methods.

An antique ring acts as a focal point and can be worn alone as a statement piece or paired alongside minimalist modern bands to create an eclectic, textured look.

Regular professional inspections of the setting claws are essential to ensure the stones remain secure, alongside gentle cleaning using warm soapy water and a soft brush to avoid damaging historical metalwork.
