An Edwardian stick pin, dating from around 1910, follows the style of the period and takes the form of a gentleman's library accessory. The piece comprises a 9ct yellow gold construction paired with a green jade terminal. The photograph reveals a grey textured background underneath the pin, an oval cabochon stone secured in a serrated bezel setting, and a twisted shaft design. Measuring 6.8 cm high, 1.4 cm wide and 0.7 cm deep, the pin presents an unmarked solid back panel and a bevelled edge on the stone. The item sees use as a decorative fastening for lapels, cravats or ties in a contemporary wardrobe.

Popular during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, stick pins were ornamental accessories used to secure cravats, ties, or scarves, serving as functional yet decorative accents in formal dress.

Edwardian jewelers frequently used 9ct, 15ct, or 18ct yellow gold, alongside platinum, securing natural cabochon gemstones like jade, opal, or sapphire onto solid gold twisted stems.

Authentic pieces typically feature British hallmarks or makers marks along the stem, hand-crimped bezel settings, and spiral textured shafts designed to grip fabric securely.

A stick pin can be worn on the lapel of a tailored suit jacket, fastened across a silk scarf, or displayed on a wool coat lapel to add historical detail.

Clean gently with a soft cloth moistened with warm water and mild soap, avoiding chemical immersion or ultrasonic cleaning to protect the natural stone setting.
