This Edwardian brooch takes the form of an Art Nouveau sterling silver wirework piece with sinuous whiplash scrolls and an openwork design. The solid silver exhibits a polished silver finish, complemented by a central round faceted purple glass stone held in a claw mount. The piece includes a hinged pin, a C clasp, and clear hallmarks stamped on the reverse. The brooch measures 1.8 cm high, 3.4 cm wide, and 1.3 cm deep. In a modern home setting, the brooch serves as a wearable accessory that can be pinned to garments, lapels, scarves, or hats. It functions practically as a personal adornment and functions as a display item within a collector's cabinet or jewellery storage box.

Charles Horner jewellery from the Art Nouveau period is recognised for its sinuous whiplash scrolls, lightweight openwork silver construction, and incorporation of coloured glass, paste, or enamelling.

Brooches from this era were typically fabricated from hallmarked sterling silver, frequently set with faceted glass pastes, semi-precious gemstones such as amethyst or citrine, or decorated with guilloche enamel.

Authentic items feature the makers mark C.H stamped into the silver alongside official British assay marks, most commonly from the Chester Assay Office, denoting the purity and date of manufacture.

An antique brooch can be worn on the lapel of a tailored blazer, fastened onto a silk scarf, pinned to the collar of a button-down shirt, or attached to a fabric handbag for a distinctive vintage accent.

Clean sterling silver gently using a dry, soft silver-polishing cloth, avoiding submergence in liquid chemical cleaners which can loosen bezel-set stones or strip intentionally aged oxidisation.
