Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Art Deco wall light dates from 1930 and combines functional engineering with streamlined geometric design. The fixture comprises a circular chrome wall fitting with a stepped backplate design, attaching via a curved chrome support and small ball finial to a spherical glass shade in a bright yellow colour. The metal elements show a polished silver finish with some light wear to the chrome, while the glass shade holds a clean, glossy appearance. The wall light measures 23 cm high, 17 cm wide, and 22 cm deep. Ideal for residential interiors, this piece provides task or ambient illumination in compact areas throughout the home. It suits placement on a narrow wall space in a hallway, beside a mirror in a bathroom, or flanking a bed in a bedroom. The understated palette of yellow and silver integrates smoothly with both vintage and contemporary interior schemes, offering a practical lighting solution with distinct period character.

FAQs

Art Deco lighting from the 1920s and 1930s emphasised geometric forms, clean lines, and polished metals such as chrome and brass paired with moulded or blown glass.

These lights were commonly constructed using chrome-plated metal, polished nickel, or brass frames combined with stepped glass shades, frosted panels, or coloured opalescent glass globes.

Authentic fixtures often feature period-specific internal mountings, stepped backplates, layered metalwork, and original glass shades with slight hand-blown variations or period manufacturer markings.

Mounting these sconces in hallway corridors, flanking bathroom mirrors, or framing doorway alcoves introduces geometric focal points that complement both contemporary and period interior schemes.

Clean the chrome base using a soft microfibre cloth and specialised metal polish designed for non-abrasive finish retention, while wiping the glass shade with mild soapy water.
