This Edwardian Art Nouveau brooch is formed of sweeping curved metalwork in a stylised flower design, set with a single central diamond in a bezel setting within an openwork frame. The piece is rendered in a combination of fifteen-carat gold and platinum with silver-toned metal, complemented by a partial hallmark showing the letter "K". The brooch rests inside an antique hinged box featuring a cream satin-lined interior lid with gold maker lettering and a deep burgundy velvet base with a brass front closure mechanism. The box measures 3.8 x 1.4 cm, while the diamond spans approximately 3.5 mm and the brooch weighs 3.2 g. This item is suitable for personal wear as a traditional fastening pin or collector's display piece, pairing well with contemporary or vintage lapels, collars, and scarves.

Art Nouveau jewellery, prominent between 1890 and 1910, is characterised by organic forms, flowing sinuous lines, and motifs inspired by nature and natural curves.

Jewellers during this period frequently combined yellow gold, often in 15ct or 18ct purities, with platinum settings to enhance the brilliance of diamonds and other precious gemstones.

Authentic pieces generally feature historical hallmarks or purity stamps, hand-crafted metalwork, epoch-appropriate stone cuts, and period-correct fasteners such as c-clasps or tube hinges.

An antique brooch can be worn on a coat lapel, attached to a silk scarf, fastened at the neckline of a blouse, or pinned to the waist of a dress to add a historical focal point.

Clean gently using a soft toothbrush and mild soapy warm water, drying thoroughly with a soft lint-free cloth, while avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or ultrasonic baths.
