This Danish Modern continental sauce or cream ladle dates from the 1930 period and comes in solid sterling silver with a reflective silver colour. The slender handle terminates in a pointed tip, and the neck displays crisp linear accents while the oval bowl features a lightly planished surface and a double-formed side pouring spout. Visible surface details include minor age wear reflections and clear punch marks near the lower stem. Measuring approximately 15 cm in length, the ladle rests comfortably in the hand for serving sauces at the dining table. Ideal for everyday use or special occasions, this piece sits neatly on a sideboard top or within a display cabinet when not in service, bringing a touch of understated Scandinavian elegance to modern dining arrangements.

Georg Jensen silver design originated in Denmark in the early twentieth century, blending Art Nouveau motifs with Scandinavian functionality. These pieces are recognised for their organic forms, hand-hammered surfaces, and balanced proportions.

Authentic pieces are predominantly crafted from sterling silver, an alloy containing 92.5 percent pure silver combined with copper for structural durability. The components are forged or cast and finished with hand-chasing.

Authentic items feature distinct makers marks including the Georg Jensen logo, hallmark stamps indicating silver purity such as 925S or 830, and occasionally specific design model numbers.

Silver ladles can be styled on dining sideboards or used alongside modern ceramic dinnerware during formal meals to introduce a historic material contrast.

Clean silver ladles with a soft cotton cloth and specialised silver polish to remove oxidisation without scratching the surface. Store in anti-tarnish fabric sleeves away from direct moisture.
