This mid-century Scandinavian brooch takes the form of a three-petal flower, originating from Norway around 1960. Constructed from silver gilt and sterling silver, the piece displays a vibrant cobalt blue vitreous enamel surface finished with an engine-turned guilloche pattern radiating outwards from a central spherical bead. The three undulating petals curve gracefully toward a rounded metallic centre, while the reverse bears stamped hallmarks confirming its origin. Measuring 4.5 cm high, 4.5 cm wide, and 1 cm deep, this wearable accessory brings mid-century modern design character to contemporary attire. When not being worn pinned to clothing, the brooch serves as a decorative collectible item that can be displayed within a home setting on a vanity tray, inside a glass display case, or upon a dressing table surface alongside other vintage jewellery pieces.

Mid-Century Norwegian enamel jewellery refers to sterling silver pieces produced primarily between the 1940s and 1970s that feature delicate engine-turned patterns beneath translucent vitreous enamel coatings.

The process involves engraving or stamping a geometric pattern onto sterling silver, applying powdered glass enamel, firing at high temperatures, and finishing with a layer of gold gilding.

Authentic pieces typically feature hallmark stamps on the reverse, such as 925S, STERLING, or maker-specific symbols alongside Norwegian origin indicators.

A brooch can be worn on tailored coat lapels, collared shirts, lightweight scarves, or fastened onto fabric handbags to add colour and structural interest.

Clean gently using a soft dry cloth; avoid chemical cleaners, ultrasonic baths, and prolonged moisture exposure which can weaken the enamel bond or wear down gilding.
