We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Art Nouveau silver design flourished between the late 1880s and the First World War, characterised by organic motifs, flowing asymmetrical lines, and whip-like curves inspired by natural forms.

These pieces typically combined sterling silver pierced mounts with blown or moulded glass liners, often secured by hinged lids and manufactured using traditional silversmithing techniques like piercing and soldering.

Authenticity is verified by examining the hallmarks stamped on the metal, which typically include a makers mark, a standard mark indicating sterling silver, a town mark for the assay office, and a date letter corresponding to the specific year.

An antique silver mustard pot can be displayed on a dining table as part of a curated tablescape, or used on an open shelf to add a touch of historic craftsmanship and metallic contrast to a contemporary space.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a non-abrasive silver cloth, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can strip away the natural patina and damage delicate glass liners.
