This Georgian sterling silver coffee pot stands 23 cm high and weighs 800 g, created in Dublin in 1825 by Edward Power. The piece exhibits a bright silver finish and displays extensive floral repousse chasing across the body, base, and lid, complemented by a cast zoomorphic beast head spout, a scroll handle, and a flower finial. Clear hallmarks appear under the base. In a modern interior, this item suits placement on a sideboard top as a decorative display element or as part of a formal tablescape in a dining room. The metal construction provides durability for domestic use while maintaining its historical character.

Late Georgian Irish silver coffee pots from the early 19th century are characterised by heavy sterling silver construction, intricate hand-chased floral repousse work, and elaborate cast elements such as animal-head spouts and foliate finials.

Silversmiths raised the body from a flat sheet of sterling silver using manual hammering techniques, subsequently applying raised decoration through repousse and chasing before soldering cast handles, spouts, and decorative finials.

Authentic Irish silver pieces bear official Dublin assay office marks, including the crowned harp, the Hibernia figure mark, a specific date letter, and the registered makers mark stamped directly into the metal.

A silversmithing piece can be displayed on a dark wood sideboard, within a glass display cabinet, or as part of a dining table arrangement to provide tactile contrast against modern textures.

Silver should be cleaned using soft cotton cloths and non-abrasive silver polishes designed to remove oxidisation without wearing down delicate chased detailing or engraved marks.
