In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Georgian era encompasses the reigns of the four King Georges from 1714 to 1830, characterised by classical proportions, refined craftsmanship, and a transition from ornate rococo designs to neoclassical simplicity.

Silver flatware from this period was predominantly crafted from sterling silver, typically hand-forged, shaped, and polished by skilled silversmiths using traditional hammer and anvil techniques.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks stamped into the metal, which generally include a makers mark, a standard mark indicating sterling quality, a duty mark, and an assay office town mark.

Antique silver can be incorporated into modern settings by displaying it within glass-fronted cabinets, using it on dining tables for special occasions, or framing it as heritage wall art.

Preservation involves storing silver in tarnish-resistant cloth, handling it with clean hands or cotton gloves, and cleaning it sparingly using specialised silver polishes without abrasive agents.
