Art Deco design, prominent from the 1920s to the 1930s, is characterised by geometric precision, clean lines, and a synthesis of traditional craftsmanship with industrial modernity.

Guilloche enamel involves machining a precise, repetitive geometric pattern onto a metallic base, usually sterling silver, before applying translucent layers of coloured vitreous enamel.

Authenticity is typically verified by examining hallmarks for the assay office, makers mark, and date letter stamped into the silver collar, alongside observing the hand-worked quality of the enamel.

These pieces can be displayed on mirrored trays, dressing tables, or open bathroom shelving to introduce a touch of historic colour and reflective metallic detail.

Enamel should be cleaned using only a soft, damp cloth to avoid scratching, while silver components require gentle polishing with a dedicated silver cloth, keeping abrasives away from the glass and enamel surfaces.
