FAQs

The Arts and Crafts movement, spanning the late 19th and early 20th centuries, emphasized handcraftsmanship, traditional materials, and functional utility over mass production.

Authentic period lighting frequently utilized hammered copper, cast brass, wrought iron, and hand-blown or cut glass to showcase natural textures and metallic patinas.

Authenticity is typically verified by hand-hammered repousse marks, period-appropriate wiring methods, natural oxidisation on the metal surfaces, and heavy-gauge brass or copper construction.

These fixtures add architectural character and warmth when paired with neutral walls, exposed brick, or rich heritage paint colours to create a balanced focal point.

Metal surfaces should be gently cleaned with a soft, dry cloth to preserve the natural patina, avoiding harsh chemical polishes that strip historical aging.
