Mid-century jewellery, spanning the 1940s through the 1960s, often featured stylised floral motifs, heavy gold or platinum settings, and a transition from geometric Art Deco designs to more organic, sculptural forms.

Traditional materials from this period include platinum, white gold, and yellow gold, frequently set with old European cut or early brilliant cut diamonds.

Authentication involves examining hallmarks, metal purity stamps, prong configurations, and the specific facet arrangement of the diamonds, which often exhibit characteristic hand-cut proportions.

Vintage diamond rings offer a striking contrast when paired with minimalist contemporary attire, allowing the intricate craftsmanship and historical character of the piece to stand out.

Preservation requires regular professional inspections of the prongs and settings to ensure stone security, alongside gentle cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft brush.
