Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A vesta case, also known as a matchsafe, is a pocket-sized container traditionally used in the 19th and early 20th centuries to safely carry vestas, which were an early type of friction match.

These items were predominantly crafted from sterling silver, base metals, and occasionally incorporated gold highlights, such as 9ct gold medallions, brass, or mixed metals.

Authentic pieces usually feature clear hallmarks indicating the metal purity, assay office, and date letter, alongside period-correct hand-engraved motifs and functioning spring-loaded hinged lids.

These small decorative objects can be displayed as part of a curated tablescape on a coffee table, styled inside a glass-front cabinet, or used as a functional trinket holder on a desk.

Maintain silver objects by using a professional silver cloth to gently remove tarnish, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage intricate engravings or mixed-metal medallions.
