The Art Deco movement emerged in the 1910s and flourished during the 1920s and 1930s, characterised by geometric precision, stylised floral motifs, symmetry, and the prominent use of platinum alongside diamonds and precious gemstones.

Jewellers during this period predominantly utilised platinum due to its strength, which allowed for delicate wirework and secure setting of stones without excessive metal bulk, frequently paired with hand-cut diamonds.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit hand-cut gemstones specific to the era, such as old European or old mine cuts, hand-carved milgrain edging, and period-appropriate maker marks or metal purity stamps.

Vintage rings can be worn as standalone statement pieces or paired with sleek, modern wedding bands to create a contrasting, layered aesthetic that highlights historical craftsmanship.

Preservation requires regular professional inspections of the setting claws and professional cleaning using ultrasonic-safe methods, alongside storing pieces individually in soft pouches to prevent scratching.
