It was listed by The Silver Cabinet. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
The Silver Cabinet has dated this Antique Silver Vinaigrette to the Victorian era.
The silver is in excellent condition, both hinges are good. There is a slight loss to the gilding on the top of the grille, probably a result of over-zealous cleaning, but otherwise the gilding is also good. There is an inscription in the cartouche on the back which (interestingly!) reads 'EGYPT'.
The view of St Paul's is identical to a drawing entitled 'North-east view of St Paul's Cathedral, City of London, 1835' by the artist Benjamin Winkles.
