Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Imari ware is a type of Japanese porcelain traditionally exported from the port of Imari in Saga prefecture, originating during the Edo period in the early 17th century.

Traditional Imari ceramics are crafted from high-fired porcelain, characterised by a distinctive palette of underglaze cobalt blue, iron red, and overlaid gilt details.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit hand-painted motifs, slight imperfections from wood-burning kilns, unglazed foot rings, and iron-red or blue underglaze maker marks on the base.

These decorative plates can be mounted on walls as statement art, displayed upright on plate stands atop sideboards, or used to bring historic pattern and rich colour palettes to modern shelving.

Antique porcelain should be hand-washed gently in lukewarm water using mild soap, avoiding harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, and abrasive sponges to protect the delicate surface enamels and gilding.
