Georgian loving mugs date from the 18th and early 19th centuries, traditionally featuring two or more handles to allow multiple drinkers to share the vessel during toasts and celebrations.

These vessels were typically crafted from sterling silver, though examples in pewter, ceramic, and turned wood also exist from the period.

Authentic pieces feature clear hallmarks indicating the assay office, date letter, makers mark, and the sterling standard lion passant, alongside age-appropriate wear and hand-chased ornamentation.

Display the piece on a mantelpiece, sideboard, or open shelving as a focal point, pairing it with neutral or dark tones to highlight the reflective metallic surface.

Maintain silver by dusting with a soft cloth and using specialized silver polish sparingly only when necessary, avoiding abrasive materials that can damage hand-engraved details.
