A whisky noggin is a small, single-serving decanter or jug traditionally used in British households and pubs for measuring out an individual portion of whisky.

Authentic period noggins typically feature heavy lead crystal or blown glass bodies, fitted with hallmarked sterling silver mounts, hinged lids, and often star-cut bases.

Authenticity is verified by inspecting the metal components for clear silver hallmarks indicating the assay office, makers mark, and date letter, alongside period-appropriate glass manufacturing techniques such as pontil marks or star-cut bases.

This piece can be displayed on a bar cart, styled on a drinks cabinet alongside complementary crystal glassware, or placed on a sideboard as a functional decorative accent.

Wash the glass gently in warm soapy water, avoiding abrasive sponges, and polish the silver mounts sparingly with a soft microfibre cloth and specialized silver cleaner, taking care not to submerge hinged lids for prolonged periods.
