Edwardian jewellery, produced during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, is characterised by delicate craftsmanship, platinum settings, and romantic motifs inspired by earlier periods such as the Georgian and Regency eras.

Goldsmiths of this period predominantly used yellow gold, rose gold, and emerging platinum settings, frequently incorporating hand-engraving, delicate filigree, and functional hinges for secret compartments.

Authentic pieces typically feature British assay office marks, such as the Chester crown or leopard head for London, alongside date letters and standard fineness stamps indicating gold purity.

Historic jewellery can be styled by pairing antique rings with minimalist contemporary bands to create a balanced, layered look that highlights the unique character of the vintage piece.

Preservation requires storing pieces in individual soft pouches away from harsh chemicals, avoiding ultrasonic cleaners on hollow or hinged items, and having settings checked periodically by a professional jeweller.
