Art Deco jewellery is characterised by geometric symmetry, clean lines, stylised motifs, and the prominent use of platinum paired with diamonds and calibre-cut coloured gemstones, reflecting the industrial modernity of the 1920s and 1930s.

Traditional construction of this era heavily favoured platinum for its strength and bright white lustre, allowing for delicate millegrain edges and secure settings for old-cut diamonds.

Authentication involves examining the hand-cut facets of the diamonds, which typically feature open culets and smaller tables characteristic of old European cuts, alongside period-appropriate maker marks and handmade platinum fabrication rather than modern casting.

Vintage pieces can be worn as standalone statement items or paired with contemporary minimalist bands to highlight the contrasting eras, blending historical craftsmanship with modern everyday attire.

Regular professional inspections of the claw settings are essential to ensure the stones remain secure, and cleaning should be performed using warm soapy water and a soft brush, avoiding harsh ultrasonic cleaners on fragile stones.
