Mid-century jewellery, spanning the 1940s to 1960s, shifted towards bold, sculptural forms and textured gold work, often moving away from traditional delicate platinum settings to embrace heavy yellow gold and distinctive gemstone pairings.

These pieces are typically crafted from 9ct or 18ct yellow gold, utilising casting, hand-bezel settings, and intricate texturing such as fluting or roping to enhance the visual weight and character of the metal.

Authentic pieces often feature period-specific hallmarks indicating metal purity and makers marks, alongside construction traits like heavy gold gauge construction, bezel or box settings, and characteristic mid-century motifs.

A vintage cocktail ring makes an ideal standalone statement piece that can be paired with contemporary minimalist outfits to highlight its unique scale, texture, and historical colour palette.

Store rings individually in soft pouches to prevent scratching, avoid wearing them during heavy manual tasks, and clean them gently with warm soapy water and a soft brush, avoiding harsh ultrasonic cleaners on sensitive gemstones.
