Victorian jewellery spans the reign of Queen Victoria (18371901) and is typically categorised into Early, Mid, and Late periods, often featuring sentimental motifs, rich yellow gold, and substantial gemstones.

Victorian items frequently utilised 9 carat and 15 carat gold, often paired with natural mined gemstones such as garnets, amethysts, and quartz varieties, held in hand-bezel or prong settings.

Authentic pieces often exhibit period-appropriate hallmarks, hand-cut facets showing slight irregularities, and traditional construction techniques such as closed-back settings or hand-wrought bails.

Antique jewellery can be paired with contemporary minimalist outfits to create a striking contrast, or layered with modern chains for a curated, eclectic aesthetic.

Antique pieces should be stored individually in soft pouches, kept away from harsh ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips, and cleaned gently with a soft cloth and mild soapy water.
