Danish silversmithing gained international renown in the mid-20th century for its combination of traditional craftsmanship and modernist design, often incorporating guilloche or opaque enamel work.

These pieces typically utilise sterling silver, often with a gold wash (vermeil), combined with fired vitreous enamel applied to engraved or textured metal surfaces.

Authentic items generally feature makers marks, silver standard hallmarks such as 830S or 925S, and Denmark stamps, alongside hand-applied enamel work characteristic of the period.

These small decorative items work well displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, on a sideboard top, or incorporated into a carefully curated tablescape to add a touch of mid-century elegance.

Enamel is sensitive to harsh chemicals, abrasives, and extreme temperature changes. Clean only with mild soapy water and a soft cloth, avoiding standard silver dips that can damage the enamel.
