We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian stationery and desk accessories are characterised by refined craftsmanship, often incorporating precious metals, delicate engraving, and functional elegance tailored for the writing desks of the early 20th century.

Antique bookmarks from this era were typically manufactured using solid precious metals such as 9 carat gold or sterling silver, frequently paired with handles made from materials like mother-of-pearl, bone, or semi-precious stones.

Authentic pieces from the Edwardian period can be verified by examining official assay office hallmarks, makers marks, and purity stamps, such as the 375 mark indicating 9 carat gold, alongside characteristic period engraving styles.

An antique gold bookmark can be displayed effectively on an office desk, within a glass-fronted bookcase, or styled atop a stack of vintage volumes to add a touch of historical metallic detail to a room.

Preservation involves storing or displaying the item in a stable environment away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity, cleaning only with a soft, dry microfibre cloth to avoid damaging delicate engravings or softer handle materials.
