Georgian silver salvers gained prominence during the 18th century as status symbols used by the aristocracy for serving wine, tea, and visiting cards.

Authentic pieces from this era are crafted from sterling silver, typically featuring hand-beaten bodies, cast borders, and intricate hand-engraved surface ornamentation.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks stamped on the metal, including the makers mark, town mark, standard mark for sterling, and date letter.

A traditional salver can be placed on a sideboard or coffee table to display glassware, or mounted on a wall as a focal point in a curated interior scheme.

Maintain antique silver by using specialized non-abrasive silver polish sparingly, handling it with soft cloths, and storing it in a low-humidity environment.
